Tarboro River Bandits Takes Victory Over Greenbrier Knights, 4-1 To Capture East Division Title

Tarboro River Bandits scores more runs than Greenbrier Knights, takes victory on Thursday to the tune of 4-1
Tarboro River Bandits got things moving in the first inning, when Mike Dolberry singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Ryan Cornelius got the win for Tarboro River Bandits. The ace allowed eight hits and one run over nine innings, striking out eight.
Aiden Foley took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The pitcher went three innings, allowing three runs on five hits.
Tarboro River Bandits tallied one home run on the day. Dolberry had a dinger in the fifth inning.
Tarboro River Bandits totaled 12 hits. Will Smith, Dolberry , Nick Hussey, and Pete Cosentino each had multiple hits for Tarboro River Bandits. Dolberry and Smith each collected three hits to lead Tarboro River Bandits. Tarboro River Bandits was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Levis Aguila made the most plays with six.
Greenbrier Knights totaled eight hits in the game. Zach Coldsnow, Max Lucas, and Myles Webb all managed multiple hits for Greenbrier Knights. Coldsnow went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Greenbrier Knights in hits.

With their win tonight, the River Bandits win the 2021 PCL Eastern Division Championship and move on to face the 2021 Western Division Champion Wake Forest Fungo in the Premier Collegiate League Championship, Friday, August 6, 2021 at Tarboro, NC. Tickets will be available at the gate. Gates open at 6;00pm, first pitch at 7:00pm.
