7/10 Game Postponed

Thursday, July 10th – Hampton, VA

Tonight’s scheduled game between the Virginia Beach Valor and the Greenbrier Knights has been postponed due to thunderstorms in the area and an unfavorable forecast for the remainder of the evening.

This game will be made up as part of a DH on Friday, July 18th.

This game has been postponed due to weather.

Join us tonight as our Greenbrier Knights host the Virginia Beach Valor at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, VA.

Gates open at 6:00pm, Game Time is 7:00pm.

Wednesday, July 9th – Tabb, VA

Greenbrier Knights Impressive In Win Against Coconuts Baseball

Greenbrier Knights easily dispatched Coconuts Baseball on Wednesday at Kiln Creek Park, 16-4. Greenbrier Knights got on the board in the top of the second inning after TJ McGowan drew a walk, scoring one run, Trevor Harris singled, scoring two runs, Addison Way doubled, scoring two runs, and Hunter Langston singled, scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Baylen Newcomb doubled, scoring two runs, Harris singled, scoring one run, and Jabril Bullock drew a walk, scoring one run. Jayden Upton-Hall homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth for the Greenbrier Knights.

Danny Padilla earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out two and walking three.

Jacob Lawrence took the loss for Coconuts Baseball. The hurler went two innings, surrendering six runs on five hits, striking out three and walking five.

Langston pitched one inning of shutout ball for Greenbrier Knights in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Greenbrier Knights accumulated 15 hits in the game. Langston, Dallas Kaili, and Harris each collected two hits for Greenbrier Knights. Way, Upton-Hall, Newcomb, Jack Warrington, and Harris each drove in two runs for Greenbrier Knights.

Greenbrier Knights had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Bullock, Nolan Williford, and McGowan led the team with two free passes each. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game. Greenbrier Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Bullock had the most chances in the field with five.

Sean Cherry, Ahmaad Goldson, Aaron Maxie, Hank Hardaway, and Coston each collected one hit for Coconuts Baseball. Cherry, Brian Jones, and Coston each drove in one run for Coconuts Baseball.

Greenbrier Knights welcome Virginia Beach Valor on Thursday for their next game.

Monday, July 7th – Edenton, NC

Warren Bailey Powers Greenbrier Knights Past Edenton Steamers

Warren Bailey hit two home runs and drove in five as Greenbrier Knights defeated Edenton Steamers 11-5 on Monday at Edenton Steamers. Bailey homered in the sixth and first innings.

Greenbrier Knights scored six runs in the eighth inning on the way to victory.  Dylan Whitmire singled, scoring one run, Colin Gifford drew a walk, scoring one run, Dallas Kaili drew a walk, scoring one run, Nolan Williford drew a walk, scoring one run, and Tre Keels singled, scoring two runs.

Greenbrier Knights were the first to get on the board in the first when Bailey hit a solo home run to center field.

Edenton Steamers made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth after Gavin Edens doubled, scoring two runs, and Gavin Edens scored after tagging up.

A grand slam to center field by Bailey gave Greenbrier Knights the lead, 5-3, in the top of the sixth.

Greenbrier Knights committed an error, which helped Edenton Steamers tie the game at five in the bottom of the seventh.

Jason Miller earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The lefty surrendered one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none. James Ross took the loss for Edenton Steamers. The right-handed pitcher went one inning, surrendering zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking one.

Gavin Stevens stepped on the bump first for Greenbrier Knights. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two and walking two.

Drew Diehl stepped on the hill first for Edenton Steamers. The hurler surrendered one hit and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Calub Gryckiewicz tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Greenbrier Knights in relief. The righty surrendered two hits, striking out two and walking none.

Bailey and Keels each collected two hits for Greenbrier Knights. Greenbrier Knights had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Gifford and Jack Warrington led the team with two free passes each. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game.

Edenton Steamers piled up 11 hits in the game. Gavin Edens led Edenton Steamers with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Sam Stowe and Gavin Edens each collected three hits for Edenton Steamers.

Greenbrier Knights will travel to Coconuts Baseball for their next game on Wednesday.

Knights at Steamers

Join us tonight as the Greenbrier Knights will be traveling to Historic Hicks Field in Edenton, NC to take on the Edenton Steamers, in our final match up with the Steamers this summer.

Saturday, July 5th – Virginia Beach, VA

Third-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Virginia Beach Valor Past Greenbrier Knights

Virginia Beach Valor defeated Greenbrier Knights 6-0 on Saturday at First Colonial High School thanks in part to four runs in the third inning.

Virginia Beach Valor got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Greenbrier Knights committed an error, Johnson singled down the right field line, Flora walked, and Kim singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Tyndall earned the win for Virginia Beach Valor. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Danny Padillo pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Greenbrier Knights. The hurler surrendered one hit and one run while, striking out seven and walking none.

Adam Emhoff took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The lefty went two and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking five.

Riley Anderson and Nolan Williford each collected two hits for Greenbrier Knights.

Johnson, Virginia Beach Valor’s number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in four at-bats. Selph, Kim, Johnson, and Flora each drove in one run for Virginia Beach Valor. Cohen stole three bases.

Greenbrier Knights will travel to Edenton Steamers for their next game on Monday.
