On behalf of the Premier Collegiate League, we would like to say thank you to all of the players, coaches, interns and volunteers who helped make our 2021 season another summer to remember. Thank you to our fans who came out to support the players this summer, we know you were treated to some exciting collegiate summer league baseball.
We would like to thank Eastern Officials Association, Mr. Chad Foltz and all of the great umpires at EOA. Their professionalism and dedication to baseball continue to help make our collegiate summer league a great place for players to develop and gain valuable playing experience.
We would like to thank War Memorial Stadium, the Peninsula Pilots, Henry Morgan, and the Pilots staff for graciously allowing us to use their facilities again this summer, thank you.
We would like to say thank you to all of the college coaches who allowed their players to join us this summer and be a part of the 2021 Premier Collegiate League. We trust that your players will return to campus this fall ready to compete and contribute to the program.
Finally, we would like to say thank you to Shannon Dooley, our league’s Director of Operations, who keeps the league running on schedule and together, and whose help each summer in invaluable. Thank you for all you do for the league, coaches, umpires, players, interns and fans.

The River Bandits finished the regular season in first place and went into the post season tournament as the number one seed in the eastern division. After a first round loss, the River Bandits bounced back to win three straight and the 2021 PCL Eastern Division Championship, sending them to the league championship game, where they came out victorious, with a hard fought 4 – 3 win and the 2021 PCL Championship.
Congratulations to the Wake Forest Fungo on a great season, finishing the regular season in first place and carrying their one seed into the post season tournament, where they emerged as the 2021 PCL Western Division Champions and competed until the final out in the 2021 PCL League Championship Game.

At Friday night’s Premier Collegiate League’s Championship Game, Will Smith, Univ. of Tennessee – Martin, took the mound for the Tarboro River Bandits to face the powerhouse Wake Forest Fungo.
Will Smith led the Tarboro River Bandits to victory on the pitcher’s mound, surrendering three runs on six hits over eight innings, striking out seven and walking one, en route to being named 2021 PCL Championship MVP.

Will Smith led the Tarboro River Bandits to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The pitcher surrendered three runs on six hits over eight innings, striking out seven and walking one. Eli Culbreth threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Kei Yamagishi took the loss for Wake Forest Fungo. Yamagishi went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.
Jayson Arendt started the game for Wake Forest Fungo. The righthander allowed seven hits and two runs over six and a third innings, striking out ten
