Peninsula Pilots Can’t Hold Up Against Edenton Steamers

Friday, July 9, 2021 – Hampton, VA

Peninsula Pilots struggled to get their offense going on Friday, getting easily dispatched by Edenton Steamers, 7-1.

Jared Davis earned the win for Edenton Steamers. The righty surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Aiden Kuhle, Anthony Stehlin, and Blake Gipson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Blake Purnell took the loss for Peninsula Pilots. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out four.

Peninsula Pilots launched one home run on the day. Steenstra went for the long ball in the ninth inning.

Five Pitchers Team Up As Wilmington Sharks Shuts Out Greenbrier Knights

Friday, July 9, 2021 – Wilmington, NC

Wilmington Sharks defeated Greenbrier Knights 5-0 on Friday as five pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Wilmington Sharks notched four runs in the eighth inning. Wilmington Sharks put the pressure on, lead by singles by Chase Nixon, Gavin Grubbs, and Brett Carson.

A single by Warren Bailey in the second inning was a positive for Greenbrier Knights.

Cade Udell pitched Wilmington Sharks to victory. The pitcher went one inning, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero. Blake Kinkid, Tanner Sinicki, and Ryan Obrecht all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Aiden Foley took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The lefthander allowed three hits and one run over two innings, striking out one.

Fuquay-Varina Twins watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-6 loss to Edenton Steamers on Wednesday. Edenton Steamers took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Wake Forest Fungo Drops Game To Tarboro River Bandits After Late Score

Wednesday, July 7, 2021 – Wake Forest, NC

Wake Forest Fungo stayed in it until the end, but Tarboro River Bandits pulled away late in a 7-6 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at six with Tarboro River Bandits batting in the top of the seventh when Dane Hoggard drew a walk, scoring one run.

Wake Forest Fungo lost despite out-hitting Tarboro River Bandits nine to seven.

Wake Forest Fungo captured the lead in the third inning. Bryan Arendt drove in one when Arendt singled.

Tarboro River Bandits evened things up at six in the top of the sixth inning when Jackson Cherry singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Tarboro River Bandits took the lead for good with one run in the seventh inning. In the seventh Hoggard drew a walk, scoring one run.

Eli Culbreth was the winning pitcher for Tarboro River Bandits. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Lawson Russell threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Russell recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Tarboro River Bandits.

Jaysen Arendt was on the pitcher’s mound for Wake Forest Fungo. Arendt allowed seven hits and six runs over six innings, striking out eight. Branden Kunz and Aiden Hough entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Edenton Steamers Stays Scrappy In Loss To Greenbrier Knights

Edenton Steamers‘s effort to come back from down five runs in the sixth inning came up just short, as they fell 7-5 to Greenbrier Knights on Tuesday. Edenton Steamers scored two runs in the failed comeback on a single by Jacob Bisharat and a single by Casey Haire.

Edenton Steamers couldn’t keep up with Greenbrier Knights early in the game. Greenbrier Knights took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

Greenbrier Knights got things started in the first inning when Jose Cazorla homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Edenton Steamers notched three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Edenton Steamers was led by Bisharat and Haire, all driving in runs in the frame.

Greenbrier Knights scored four runs in the third inning. The big inning for Greenbrier Knights came thanks to a walk by Jordan Daddio, a single by Thomas Crandall, and a sacrifice fly by Justin Kerestes.

Tuesday, July 6, 2021 – Edenton, NC

A walk-off single propelled Edenton Steamers to a decisive, dramatic victory over Greenbrier Knights, 6-5. Edenton Steamers was down 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Jackson Hipp singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Edenton Steamers earned the victory despite allowing Greenbrier Knights to score three runs in the eighth inning. Myles Webb, Thomas Crandall, and Juan Lugo all drove in runs in the frame.

Edenton Steamers opened up an early lead in the second inning when Casey Haire singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights evened things up at two in the top of the sixth inning. Greenbrier Knights scored one run when Crandall singled.

Tarboro River Bandits Claims Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat Greenbrier Knights

Tarboro River Bandits snagged a late lead and defeated Greenbrier Knights 4-3 on Monday. The game was tied at three with Tarboro River Bandits batting in the bottom of the seventh when Pete Cosentino ‘s sac fly scored one run for Tarboro River Bandits.

Greenbrier Knights scored three runs in the first inning, but Tarboro River Bandits still managed to pull out the victory. Greenbrier Knights scored its runs on a home run by Justin Kerestes.

Greenbrier Knights got on the board in the first inning. Shane McCarthy grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Tarboro River Bandits tied things up at three when Will Smith grounded out, scoring one run.

Alec Greenblatt led the Tarboro River Bandits to victory on the hill. Greenblatt went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking one. Jonathan Peacock threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Aiden Foley took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The lefthander allowed two hits and one run over one and two-thirds innings, walking zero.

Ben Roberts started the game for Tarboro River Bandits. The righthander surrendered three runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three Andrew Ramos started the game for Greenbrier Knights. The righty allowed seven hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out six

Early Lead For Carolina Thunder Sets Stage For Victory Over Fuquay-Varina Twins

Monday, July 5, 2021 – Stem, NC

Carolina Thunder grabbed an early lead on its way to a 4-3 victory over Fuquay-Varina Twins on Monday. Carolina Thunder scored on a double by Lane, a double by Jaffe, and a walk by Morgan in the second inning.

Kaden earned the victory on the mound for Carolina Thunder. Kaden allowed four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. #6 threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. #6 recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Carolina Thunder.

Seth Bullock took the loss for Fuquay-Varina Twins. The righthander surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out four.

Zane led Carolina Thunder with two hits in three at bats.
