Fuquay-Varina Twins Can’t Catch Up To Edenton Steamers

Fuquay-Varina Twins watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-6 loss to Edenton Steamers on Wednesday. Edenton Steamers took the lead on a single in the first inning.
Fuquay-Varina Twins lost despite out-hitting Edenton Steamers 12 to seven.
Edenton Steamers got on the board in the first inning when Joe Haney singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Edenton Steamers scored five runs in the fifth inning. Edenton Steamers‘s big inning was driven by walks by Haney and Chase Bruno, a single by Jackson Hipp, and a home run by Hunter Cole.
Tyrus Baumgardner was the winning pitcher for Edenton Steamers. The righty surrendered two runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Ben Coffman and Spencer Ambrose entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
