Early Lead For Tarboro River Bandits Seals Fate For Greenbrier Knights, Forcing If Game Back in Tarboro

Monday, August 2, 2021 – Hampton, VA

Greenbrier Knights fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to Tarboro River Bandits on Monday. Tarboro River Bandits took the lead on a in the first inning.

Jack Macintosh got the win for Tarboro River Bandits. The bulldog went nine innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out one.

Dolberry ‘S Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Tarboro River Bandits Victory Over Edenton Steamers

Sunday, August 1, 2021 – Tarboro, NC

A walk-off walk led Tarboro River Bandits past Edenton Steamers 3-2 on Sunday. The game was tied at two with Tarboro River Bandits batting in the bottom of the tenth when Mike Dolberry drew a walk, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Tarboro River Bandits pitchers struck out ten, while Edenton Steamers pitchers sat down 12.

Tarboro River Bandits got things moving in the first inning. Jackson Cherry singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the ninth inning, Edenton Steamers tied things up at two. Jacob Bisharat drew a walk, scoring one run.

Eli Culbreth was the winning pitcher for Tarboro River Bandits. The righthander went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking one.

Cole Bates took the loss for Edenton Steamers. The righty went two and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four.

Daniel Willie started the game for Edenton Steamers. With tonight’s win, the Tarboro River Bandits advance to the Championship Game Monday night at War Memorial Stadium against the Greenbrier Knights.

As this is a double elimination division championship tournament, if the River Bandits loose Monday night, the Knights will be the Eastern Division Champion. If the River Bandits win Monday night’s game, they will force the if game, to be played Tuesday, August 3, 2021.

With their lose tonight, the Edenton Steamers’ season comes to an end. We would like to say thank you to the Steamers staff, coaches and players for another great summer. We wish all the players and coaches the best as they return to campus in a few weeks.

Tarboro River Bandits Falls To Greenbrier Knights After Seventh Inning Score

Saturday, July 31, 2021 – Tarboro, NC

Tarboro River Bandits stayed in it until the end, but Greenbrier Knights pulled away late in a 9-7 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at six with Greenbrier Knights batting in the top of the seventh when Myles Webb doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, Tarboro River Bandits did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Greenbrier Knights had nine hits on the way to victory.

Tarboro River Bandits got things started in the second inning when Pete Cosentino homered on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Tarboro River Bandits tied things up at six when an error scored one run for Tarboro River Bandits.

Tarboro River Bandits scored three runs in the sixth inning. Cam HassertCosentino , and Anthony Sherwin all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Greenbrier Knights scored four runs in the third inning. Trent HancheyJose CazorlaWarren Bailey, and Zach Coldsnow all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Hurdle’s Walk-Off Gives Wake Forest Fungo Victory Over Fuquay-Varina Twins

Saturday, July 31, 2021 – Wake Forest, NC

Wake Forest Fungo defeated Fuquay-Varina Twins 15-14 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at 14 with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the bottom of the ninth when Rufus Hurdle singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Wake Forest Fungo built a six-run lead in the first inning and then held off Fuquay-Varina Twins‘s charge. Fuquay-Varina Twins tallied 14 runs in the failed comeback. Andrew JohnstonRJ JohnsonDavie MorganCorbin LanowitzJacob Raby, and Lanowitz fueled the rally with RBIs.

Wake Forest Fungo opened up scoring in the first inning. Hogan Stallings drew a walk, scoring one run.

Friday’s game against Greenbrier Knights was a heartbreaker for Edenton Steamers, as they lost the lead late in an 8-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with Greenbrier Knights batting in the top of the tenth when Trent Hanchey singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Edenton Steamers took an early lead in the third inning. Hunter Cole hit a solo homer.

Zach Williams was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday, driving in six on two hits to lead Fuquay-Varina Twins past Carolina Pirates 11-1 on Friday. Williams drove in runs on a grand slam in the third and a home run in the sixth.

Fuquay-Varina Twins opened up scoring in the first inning. Fuquay-Varina Twins scored two runs when Davie Morgan homered.

Fuquay-Varina Twins put up four runs in the third inning. Fuquay-Varina Twins scored its runs on an RBI grand slam by Williams.

Trent Simmons toed the rubber for Fuquay-Varina Twins. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out nine and walking zero.

Wake Forest Fungo Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Fuquay-Varina Twins

Thursday, July 29, 2021 – Lillington, NC

Wake Forest Fungo snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-6 victory over Fuquay-Varina Twins on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the bottom of the fifth when Tristan Marsh singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Wake Forest Fungo collected 15 hits and Fuquay-Varina Twins had eight in the high-scoring affair.

Fuquay-Varina Twins got on the board in the first inning when.

Cam Obrien earned the win for Wake Forest Fungo. The fireballer went three and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven. Matt Stanley threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Stanley recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Wake Forest Fungo.

Trey Deutsch was on the mound for Fuquay-Varina Twins. The righty surrendered six runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four. Collin Welch threw two innings out of the bullpen.

4-Hit Day For Cummings Leads Fuquay-Varina Twins Past Carolina Pirates

Ty Cummings had a busy day at the plate on Thursday, smacking four hits in Fuquay-Varina Twins‘s 15-5 victory over Carolina PiratesCummings singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

Fuquay-Varina Twins earned the victory despite allowing Carolina Pirates to score five runs in the second inning. CJ MartinHedgepathTyler, and Zoltoski all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

In the bottom of the second inning, Fuquay-Varina Twins tied things up at five when.

Fuquay-Varina Twins pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Andrew Johnston singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
