Edenton Steamers Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Catawba Valley Stars
Edenton Steamers nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-6 victory over Catawba Valley Stars on Thursday. Edenton Steamers was down 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ian Jenkins singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Edenton Steamers collected eight hits and Catawba Valley Stars had four in the high-scoring affair.
Edenton Steamers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Anthony Stehlin drew a walk, scoring one run.
Edenton Steamers took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Hunter Cole drew a walk, scoring one run and Weston Kerley‘s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Edenton Steamers.
Aiden Kuhle pitched Edenton Steamers to victory. Kuhle went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking zero. Zach Bagley, Ben Coffman, and Sam Duncan all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
