Edenton Steamers Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Wake Forest Fungo
Wednesday, June 16, 2021 – Edenton, NC
Edenton Steamers stole the lead late and defeated Wake Forest Fungo 3-2 on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with Edenton Steamers batting in the bottom of the seventh when Chase Bruno singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Edenton Steamers pitchers struck out 16, while Wake Forest Fungo pitchers sat down seven.
Edenton Steamers got on the board in the second inning when Casey Haire singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Clark Dearman was the winning pitcher for Edenton Steamers. The southpaw surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out six and walking zero.
