The Edenton Steamers travelled to Buck Hardee Field @ Legion Stadium, aka, the Shark Tank, to take on the Wilmington Sharks in an exhibition game Saturday night, losing 11 – 6 after giving up a late inning burst to the Sharks.
Tarboro River Bandits tallied five runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by an error on a ball put in play by Mallia and Jones, a single by Casey, and a sacrifice fly by Sherwin.
Julian Parson pitched Tarboro River Bandits to victory. The righthander allowed four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Graeme Carroll and Will Smith entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Wake Forest Fungo Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Carolina Pirates
Saturday, July 3, 2021 – Wake Forest Fungo
Wake Forest Fungo nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Carolina Pirates on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jake Brown singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.
Nic Povio earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Wake Forest Fungo. Povio surrendered zero runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Carson Hinnant and Kain Kiser entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Kiser recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Wake Forest Fungo.
Brown was on the mound for Carolina Pirates. Brown surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out six. Ballanre threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Stanley started the game for Wake Forest Fungo. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on zero hits
Wake Forest Fungo socked two home run on the day. Marsh had a dinger in the third and sixth innings.
Rodriguez went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Carolina Pirates in hits. Carolina Pirates was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lallo had the most chances in the field with seven.

Wake Forest Fungo stayed in it until the end, but Edenton Steamers pulled away late in a 9-5 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Edenton Steamers batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored two runs for Edenton Steamers.
