Wake Forest Fungo Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Carolina Pirates

Saturday, July 3, 2021 – Wake Forest Fungo

Wake Forest Fungo nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Carolina Pirates on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jake Brown singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Wake Forest Fungo earned the victory despite allowing Carolina Pirates to score four runs in the first inning. Carolina Pirates‘s big inning was driven by a walk by Herring, a single by Bielecki, by Ritter, and a fielder’s choice by CJ Martin.

In the first inning, Carolina Pirates got their offense started when Matt Stanley induced Martin to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

After Carolina Pirates scored one run in the top of the sixth, Wake Forest Fungo answered with one of their own. Carolina Pirates scored when Ritter singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Wake Forest Fungo then answered when Tristan Marsh hit a solo homer.

Nic Povio earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Wake Forest FungoPovio surrendered zero runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Carson Hinnant and Kain Kiser entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Kiser recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Wake Forest Fungo.

Brown was on the mound for Carolina PiratesBrown surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out six. Ballanre threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Stanley started the game for Wake Forest Fungo. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on zero hits

Edenton Steamers Holds Off Greenbrier Knights As 7-Run Deficit Is Nearly Erased

Friday, July 2, 2021 – Edenton, NC

Despite seeing its seven-run lead whittled down by the end, Edenton Steamers still held off Greenbrier Knights for a 9-8 victory on Friday. Greenbrier Knights managed six runs in the failed comeback. Lincoln RansomMyles WebbZachary WillTrent Hanchey, and Ransom all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Edenton Steamers collected 11 hits and Greenbrier Knights had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

Greenbrier Knights fired up the offense in the first inning. Zach Coldsnow hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Edenton Steamers took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Case Kermode singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Casey Haire homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.

Greenbrier Knights scored four runs in the eighth inning. Greenbrier Knights offense in the inning was led by RansomWebbWill, and Hanchey, who all drove in runs.

Clark Dearman was the winning pitcher for Edenton Steamers. The southpaw surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out six. Blake GipsonMichael Allen, and Ben Coffman all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Allen recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Edenton Steamers.

Vincent Bashara took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The righthander went four innings, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out four and walking zero.

Wake Forest Fungo Falls To Edenton Steamers After Seventh Inning Score

Wake Forest Fungo stayed in it until the end, but Edenton Steamers pulled away late in a 9-5 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Edenton Steamers batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored two runs for Edenton Steamers.

Wake Forest Fungo got things started in the first inning. Hogan Stallings drove in two when Stallings homered.

After Edenton Steamers scored one run in the top of the eighth, Wake Forest Fungo answered with one of their own. Edenton Steamers scored when Joe Haney doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Wake Forest Fungo then answered when Pete Maldonado‘s sac fly scored one run for Wake Forest Fungo.

Edenton Steamers took the lead for good with five runs in the seventh inning. In the seventh Hunter Cole hit a solo homer, Tristan Purser induced Josh Pernetti to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and an error scored one run for Edenton Steamers.

Daniel Brandon took the win for Edenton Steamers. The lefty allowed three hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out two. Tarboro River Bandits sailed to an easy victory over Greenbrier Knights 16-1 on Wednesday

Tarboro River Bandits got on the board in the first inning. Mike Dolberry drove in three when Dolberry homered.

Tarboro River Bandits scored four runs in the seventh inning. Tarboro River Bandits batters contributing to the big inning included Levis Aguila and Dane Hoggard, all driving in runs in the inning.

Jack Metzger was the winning pitcher for Tarboro River Bandits. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four. Ryan RouseBen Roberts, and Graeme Carroll all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Fuquay-Varina Twins defeated Carolina Pirates 8-5 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at four with Fuquay-Varina Twins batting in the bottom of the sixth when Zach Joyner singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Tarboro River Bandits Can’t Catch Up To Wilson Tobs

Tuesday, June 29, 2021 – Tarboro, NC

Tarboro River Bandits watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-4 loss to Wilson Tobs on Tuesday. Wilson Tobs scored on a groundout by Jepson, a single by Eickhoff, a single by Gibson, and a home run by Browder in the first inning.

The Tarboro River Bandits struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Wilson Tobs, giving up 12 runs.

Wilson Tobs got things moving in the first inning, when Jepson grounded out, scoring one run.

Camden Noble started the game for Tarboro River Bandits. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing five runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.

Tarboro River Bandits smacked one home run on the day. Ethan Fewell had a dinger in the seventh inning.

Ben Jones led Tarboro River Bandits with three hits in four at bats.

Edenton Steamers Falls To Peninsula Pilots After Sixth Inning Score

Tuesday, June 29, 2021 – Edenton, NC

Edenton Steamers stayed in it until the end, but Peninsula Pilots pulled away late in a 7-4 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Peninsula Pilots batting in the top of the sixth when Ethan Hunter drew a walk, scoring one run.

Edenton Steamers lost despite out-hitting Peninsula Pilots nine to six.

Peninsula Pilots captured the lead in the second inning. Hunter grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Edenton Steamers tied things up at three. Jackson Hipp drove in one when Hipp singled.

Peninsula Pilots took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Hunter drew a walk, scoring one run, Carson Demartini singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Trey Morgan grounded out, scoring one run.

Daniel Cole earned the victory on the mound for Peninsula Pilots. undefined went two innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Robert CookErik StockJack Dragum, and Tripp Breen all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Stock recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Peninsula Pilots.

Clark Dearman took the loss for Edenton Steamers. The lefthander allowed three hits and four runs.

Chris Buehler started the game for Edenton SteamersBuehler went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out two Lance Hinton started the game for Peninsula Pilots. The bulldog allowed five hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one
