Wake Forest Fungo Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Fuquay-Varina Twins

Wake Forest Fungo took the lead late and defeated Fuquay-Varina Twins 8-7 on Sunday. The game was tied at seven with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the bottom of the sixth when Wake Forest Fungo scored one run on a stolen base.

Edenton Steamers Falls To Tarboro River Bandits After Ninth Inning Score

Saturday’s game against Tarboro River Bandits was a heartbreaker for Edenton Steamers, as they lost the lead late in a 10-8 defeat. The game was tied at eight with Tarboro River Bandits batting in the top of the ninth when Mike Dolberry singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Fuquay-Varina Twins Takes Victory Over Wake Forest Fungo, 10-5

Fuquay-Varina Twins defeated Wake Forest Fungo 10-5 on Sunday.

Fuquay-Varina Twins captured the lead in the first inning. Corbin Lanowitz drew a walk, scoring one run.

Fuquay-Varina Twins took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Zach Long drew a walk, scoring one run and Xander Hamilton doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Fuquay-Varina Twins scored four runs in the fourth inning. Nate Stocum, Jake Lysaught, and Jordan Montgomery each drove in runs during the inning.

Five RBI Day For Josh Hoffman Brings Victory For Wake Forest Fungo Over Carolina Pirates

Josh Hoffman was an RBI machine on Sunday, driving in five on three hits to lead Wake Forest Fungo past Carolina Pirates 11-3 on Sunday. Hoffman drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the second, a single in the fourth, and a triple in the fifth.

Wake Forest Fungo got things started in the second inning when Thomas Fox singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Wake Forest Fungo scored five runs in the fifth inning. Wake Forest Fungo big bats were led by Eli Meredith, Hoffman, and Jaysen Arendt, all driving in runs in the inning.

Kei Yamagishi pitched Wake Forest Fungo to victory. The righty allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Jayden Bailey and Daniel Stephens entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
