Coconuts at Knights for DH

The Yorktown Coconuts will be coming to War Memorial Stadium to take on our Greenbrier Knights in this Friday double header.

Gate will open at 3:00pm, First pitch for game 1 is scheduled for 4:00pm. Game 2 is scheduled to start at 7:00pm.

Parking is free, we do ask you use the parking lot behind home plate and access the stadium through the home plate gate.

Concessions will be available, no outside food or drinks permitted in the stadium.

Skippers defeat Knights 14 – 4

Greenbrier Knights Cannot Hold Onto Lead Versus River City Skippers

Despite leading by as many as four runs, Greenbrier Knights fell to River City Skippers 14-4 on Wednesday at Knobbs Creek Recreation Center.

Greenbrier Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sylvester Clark singled down the right field line, and Ryan Hummel grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run. Greenbrier Knights extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Hayden Jones and Tre Keels.

River City Skippers scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to center field by Smith. River City Skippers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-4.

The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Cochran on an 0-2 count that drove in two. River City Skippers scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Fether singled, scoring one run, Leary doubled, scoring two runs, Rebollar drew a walk, scoring one run, Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, and Wood was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Daryl Husband earned the win for River City Skippers. The pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none.

Bryce Burchette took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The starter went four innings, surrendering eight runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking three. Hirsh started the game for River City Skippers. The hurler gave up six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Greenbrier Knights tallied nine hits in the game.

Leadoff hitter Keels led Greenbrier Knights with two hits in three at bats. Hummel, Jones, Clark, and Keels each drove in one run for Greenbrier Knights.

River City Skippers accumulated 13 hits in the game. Leary led River City Skippers with four runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Fether and Glency each collected multiple hits for River City Skippers. Smith led River City Skippers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Rebollar stole two bases. River City Skippers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Leary had the most chances in the field with 13.

Knights at Skippers 6/11

Wednesday, June 11, 2025 – Elizabeth City, NC

On Wednesday, the Greenbrier Knights will be traveling to Elizabeth City to take on the River City Skippers at Holmes Field at Knobbs Creek.

Gates open at 6:00pm, Game Time is 7:00pm. Tickets will be available at the gate.

6/9 Game Postponed

June 9th – Tabb, VA

The Chesapeake Bay Scallywags scheduled game vs the Yorktown Coconuts, scheduled for 6/9 at Kiln Creek Park has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions, as a result of overnight thunderstorms.

The make up for this game has been scheduled for June 18th at Kiln Creek Park, at 7:00pm.

The Greenbrier Knights will travel to Tabb, VA to take on the Yorktown Coconuts at Kiln Creek Park.

Knights 11, Chili Peppers 3

Warren Bailey’s Big Day Propels Greenbrier Knights Past Tri City Chili Peppers 

Warren Bailey collected three hits in four at bats, as Greenbrier Knights defeated Tri City Chili Peppers 11-3 on Wednesday at Shepherd Stadium. Bailey singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Greenbrier Knights won thanks in part to six runs in the first inning. Riley Anderson doubled, scoring one run, Victor Johnson Jr singled, scoring one run, Bailey singled, scoring one run, Maison Becker singled, scoring one run, Taylor Barnes singled, scoring one run, and Jabril Bullock singled, scoring one run. Greenbrier Knights added one run in the second. TJ McGowan was struck by a pitch, making the score 7-2.

Bryce Burchette earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Evan Rice started the game for Tri City Chili Peppers, taking the loss. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking three.

Samuel Poore, Colin Gifford, Parker McRay, Garrett Siegel, Bailey, and Michael Wingo Jr each came on in relief for Greenbrier Knights and shutdown Tri City Chili Peppers.

Greenbrier Knights accumulated 12 hits in the game. Dylan Whitmire led Greenbrier Knights with two runs batted in. Whitmire went 1-for-2 on the day. Trevor Harris paced Greenbrier Knights with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 16 walks for the game.

Greenbrier Knights stole four bases in the game. Greenbrier Knights turned two double plays in the game. JT Brown led Tri City Chili Peppers with two hits in four at bats. George Kokalis, Conner Spears, and Giavani Briggs each drove in one run for Tri City Chili Peppers.

Tri City Chili Peppers had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Tri City Chili Peppers turned one double play in the game. Tri City Chili Peppers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gray Ellenburg had the most chances in the field with 10.

Greenbrier Knights With Tough Game Against Edenton Steamers

Greenbrier Knights couldn’t keep up with Edenton Steamers and fell 13-3 on Saturday at Edenton Steamers.

Edenton Steamers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Luke Alford drew a walk, scoring one run, KJ Stanfield drew a walk, scoring one run, Angel Rivera drew a walk, scoring one run, Brayden Taylor singled, scoring two runs, and Brady Williams grounded out, scoring one run.

Warren Bailey hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth for the Greenbrier Knights.

Harry Carr homered to right field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth for the Edenton Steamers.

Erik Rosas earned the win for Edenton Steamers. The starter gave up five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Bryce Burchette pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Greenbrier Knights. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs while, striking out three and walking six. Parker McRay took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, allowing six runs on one hit, striking out one and walking six.

Victor Johnson Jr set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Greenbrier Knights with two hits in three at bats. Greenbrier Knights were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hayden Jones made the most plays with seven.

Edenton Steamers piled up 10 hits in the game. Carr went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Edenton Steamers in hits. Stanfield and Carr each drove in three runs for Edenton Steamers. Williams and Leo Lopez each collected multiple hits for Edenton Steamers. Alford paced Edenton Steamers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game. Carr and Lopez each stole multiple bases for Edenton Steamers. Edenton Steamers stole eight bases in the game. Edenton Steamers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Brendan Burke had the most chances in the field with 12.

Next up for Greenbrier Knights is a game at Tri City Chili Peppers on Wednesday.

Greenbrier Knights Falls To Edenton Steamers

Greenbrier Knights could not keep pace with Edenton Steamers 6-3 on Thursday at Edenton Steamers.

Edenton Steamers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Luke Alford grounded into a fielder’s choice, Josh Long singled down the right field line, Leo Lopez singled down the right field line, and Oliver Zohn singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to left field by Victor Johnson Jr.

Zohn hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fifth for the Edenton Steamers.

Logan Lingenfelter earned the win for Edenton Steamers. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Gavin Stevens took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The hurler went two innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out one and walking two.

Johnson Jr drove the middle of the lineup, leading Greenbrier Knights with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Riley Anderson, Warren Bailey, and Johnson Jr each collected one hit for Greenbrier Knights.

Zohn led Edenton Steamers with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Edenton Steamers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Angel Rivera had the most chances in the field with six.

Greenbrier Knights will travel to Edenton Steamers for their next game on Saturday.
