Pirates win game two by a score of 6 – 3 and complete the sweep of the Thunder.

Justin Brown picks up the win on the mound while Seth Coats earns the save. Connor Mangum went 2 for 3, and Zach Zoltoski went 2 – 4 with an RBI.

Late Score Costs Wake Forest Fungo Against Fuquay-Varina Twins

Saturday, June 26, 2021 – Wake Forest, NC

Saturday’s game against Fuquay-Varina Twins was a heartbreaker for Wake Forest Fungo, as they lost the lead late in a 13-4 defeat. Fuquay-Varina Twins was down 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Jordan Daphney homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

The Wake Forest Fungo struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Fuquay-Varina Twins, giving up 13 runs.

Friday, June 25, 2021 – Wilson, NC

Wilson Tobs blew out Tarboro River Bandits 10-4 on Friday.

In the second inning, Tarboro River Bandits got their offense started when Ethan Fewell‘s sac fly scored one run for Tarboro River Bandits.

Wilson Tobs pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth #33 singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, #16 drew a walk, scoring one run, and #27 singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Edenton Steamers Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Catawba Valley Stars

Edenton Steamers nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-6 victory over Catawba Valley Stars on Thursday. Edenton Steamers was down 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ian Jenkins singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Edenton Steamers collected eight hits and Catawba Valley Stars had four in the high-scoring affair.

Edenton Steamers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Anthony Stehlin drew a walk, scoring one run.

Edenton Steamers took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Hunter Cole drew a walk, scoring one run and Weston Kerley‘s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Edenton Steamers.

Tarboro River Bandits use three  Greenbrier Knights 20-3 on Thursday

Tarboro River Bandits opened up scoring in the first inning.

Tarboro River Bandits scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Tarboro River Bandits put the pressure on, lead by singles by Anthony SherwinCam Hassert, and Kendal Pierson , by Andrew Casey, an error on a ball put in play by Levis Aguila, and a double by Pierson .

Jonathan Peacock pitched Tarboro River Bandits to victory. Peacock allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out three. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Will SmithRyan InscoLuke Carpenter , and Ben Roberts all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Dalton Barham took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The lefty surrendered five runs on three hits over two innings, walking one.

Morehead City Marlins Can’t Catch Up To Edenton Steamers

Wednesday, June 23, 2021 – Morehead City, NC

Morehead City Marlins watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 3-1 loss to Edenton Steamers on Wednesday. Edenton Steamers scored on a home run by Hunter Cole and a home run by Aaron Copeland in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Edenton Steamers pitchers struck out 12, while Morehead City Marlins sat down 12.

Edenton Steamers opened up scoring in the first inning. Edenton Steamers scored two runs when Cole homered.

Blake Gipson earned the win for Edenton Steamers. The righty lasted two innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four. Cole Bates and Michael Allen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Allen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Edenton Steamers.

Eric Miles took the loss for Morehead City Marlins. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Greenbrier Knights wins tight contest against Tarboro River Bandits, 4-1

In the first inning, Greenbrier Knights got their offense started. Jacob Jackson grounded out, scoring one run.

Tarboro River Bandits evened things up at one in the top of the second inning. Will Smith singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Jackson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Hunter Perdue pitched Greenbrier Knights to victory. Carolina Pirates Falls To Wake Forest Fungo After Sixth Inning Score

Wednesday, June 23, 2021 – Lillington, NC

Carolina Pirates lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to Wake Forest Fungo on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Wake Forest Fungo batting in the top of the sixth when Ryan Warren singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Wake Forest Fungo pitchers struck out six, while Carolina Pirates sat down six.

Carolina Pirates knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the third inning. Wilson doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Aiden Hough was the winning pitcher for Wake Forest Fungo. The bulldog surrendered one run on seven hits over six innings, striking out four. Graham Brown threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Brown recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Wake Forest Fungo.

Price took the loss for Carolina Pirates. The hurler surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one.
