Three Edenton Steamers Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Norfolk Redbirds
Edenton Steamers defeated Norfolk Redbirds 2-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cole Bates struck out Aidan Feather to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Edenton Steamers pitchers struck out 13, while Norfolk Redbirds pitchers sat down two.
A single by Bryce Jones in the fourth inning was a positive for Norfolk Redbirds.
Logan Fleming was credited with the victory for Edenton Steamers. The bulldog allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Bates threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Bates recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Edenton Steamers.
Jacob Raugini took the loss for Norfolk Redbirds. Raugini lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero.
