Coconuts 17, Knights 7

Monday, June 30th – Hampton, VA

Greenbrier Knights couldn’t keep up with Coconuts Baseball and fell 17-7 on Monday at War Memorial Stadium.

Coconuts Baseball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Aaron Maxie drew a walk, scoring one run, Brian Jones grounded out, scoring one run, Tucker Love singled, scoring one run, CJ Buchan singled, scoring two runs, and Colton Sandiford singled, scoring one run.

Coston homered to right field, scoring two runs in the top of the third for the Coconuts Baseball.

Austin Wells earned the win for Coconuts Baseball. The pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Michael Wingo Jr pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Greenbrier Knights. The righty gave up eight hits and eight runs (five earned) while, striking out five and walking one. Garrett Siegel took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The starting pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering six runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking two.

Greenbrier Knights tallied nine hits in the game. Jameson Dick, the number nine hitter for Greenbrier Knights, led the way with two runs batted in. Dick went 1-for-2 on the day. Riley Anderson, Colin Gifford, Colt Cundiff, Noah Kegley, Jayden Upton-Hall, Baylen Newcom, Chase Chamberlain, Trevor Harris, and Dick each collected one hit for Greenbrier Knights. Maison Becker paced Greenbrier Knights with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 12 walks for the game. Greenbrier Knights stole five bases in the game.

Coconuts Baseball piled up 14 hits in the game. Coston led Coconuts Baseball with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Love, Buchan, Jones, and Austen Townsend each collected two hits for Coconuts Baseball. Maxie paced Coconuts Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Coconuts Baseball didn’t commit a single error in the field. Buchan had the most chances in the field with 10.

Greenbrier Knights Triumph Over River City Skippers

Greenbrier Knights beat River City Skippers 6-1 on Friday at Knobbs Creek Recreation Center.

Greenbrier Knights opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two walks. Greenbrier Knights first got on the board when TJ McGowan drew a walk, scoring one run.

Gavin Stevens earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Hirsh took the loss for River City Skippers. The pitcher went five innings, surrendering four runs on two hits, striking out three and walking six. Jason Miller collected the save. Parker McRay tossed one inning of no-run ball for Greenbrier Knights in relief. The lefty surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking two.

Tre Keels went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Dylan Whitmire led Greenbrier Knights with two hits in five at bats. Greenbrier Knights had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Maison Becker and Jameson Dick led the team with two bases on balls each.

Bruning went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Rebollar went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead River City Skippers in hits. River City Skippers turned one double play in the game.

The Greenbrier Knights will be travelling to Elizabeth City, NC to take on the River City Skippers Thursday night at Knobbs Creek Park.

Greenbrier Knights Fall After Strong Showing By River City Skippers

Greenbrier Knights couldn’t keep up with River City Skippers and fell 12-2 on Thursday at Knobbs Creek Recreation Center.

River City Skippers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Collin Bruning doubled, scoring one run, Bruning scored after tagging up, and James Fenton singled, scoring one run. An error extended the River City Skippers lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Tim Cansler earned the win for River City Skippers. The hurler allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking none. Danny Padillo took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The starter went two innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one.

Dylan Whitmire went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Sylvester Clark led Greenbrier Knights with two hits in two at bats.

Jaden Greenidge, Ryan Robinson, Regan Cochran, Fenton, Matthew Fountain, Josh Tripp, Diego Flores, Bruning, and Dom Davis each drove in one run for River City Skippers.

Fountain led River City Skippers with two hits in three at bats. River City Skippers had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Bruning, Brandon Yoder, and Davis led the team with two walks each.

Fenton stole three bases. River City Skippers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. River City Skippers turned one double play in the game.

River City Skippers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Davis had the most chances in the field with 10.

Tuesday, June 24, 2025 – Edenton, NC

Big Seventh Inning Leads Edenton Steamers Past Greenbrier Knights

Edenton Steamers defeated Greenbrier Knights 12-2 on Tuesday at Edenton Steamers thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning.

Edenton Steamers got on the board in the first inning after Luke Alford hit a solo home run to right field.

A home run to center field by Warren Bailey gave Greenbrier Knights the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.

Edenton Steamers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Alford homered to center field, and Rylan Evans scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.

Edenton Steamers scored seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jack Cuba hit a solo home run to left field, Jason Janesko singled, scoring two runs, and KJ Stanfield hit a grand slam to center field.

Drew Diehl earned the win for Edenton Steamers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. Calub Gryckiewicz took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The pitcher went three innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking none.

Bailey drove the middle of the lineup, leading Greenbrier Knights with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Tre Keels set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Greenbrier Knights with two hits in three at bats.

Edenton Steamers accumulated 14 hits in the game. Stanfield provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Edenton Steamers with five runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Parker Byrd and Alford each collected three hits for Edenton Steamers. Alford hit two home runs in the game. The right fielder went 3-3 with four runs scored and two runs batted in. Janesko collected two hits for Edenton Steamers in four at bats. Edenton Steamers turned one double play in the game.
