The Premier Collegiate League is a collegiate summer baseball league headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. The Premier Collegiate League follows all rules and regulations of the NCAA.

The Premier Collegiate League is a division of the Tidewater Summer League, with teams located throughout Northeast North Carolina and Southeast Virginia.

The close geographic proximity of our teams ensures short travel times for our players and fans who enjoy traveling to opposing team’s ballparks to cheer on their team while visiting the great towns and communities that host our teams.

Premier Collegiate League’s teams will play approximately 42 games, including regular season league games, exhibition games, plus our All Star Game and Post Season Championship Tournament.

Our season typically runs from late May through the first few days of August each summer. The PCL is a wood bat league, as are most collegiate summer leagues.

Summer baseball continues to be an important part of a collegiate players development and exposure. The majority of collegiate coaches now consider summer baseball to be a third leg of their player’s season.

With the expanded fall season, the traditional spring season, and now, with over half of all D1 collegiate players participating in summer league baseball, the summer season is an important part of a collegiate players development, exposure and well rounded collegiate baseball experience.

Going beyond the collegiate experience, summer league’s have played an important role in helping prepare players for the rigors of professional baseball as they transition to the next level.

Summer baseball approximates a minor league season, without jeopardizing the players eligibility and amateur status, and provides tremendous development opportunities and the opportunity to challenge themselves against some of the top collegiate players from across the country.

Premier Collegiate League players stay with host families in the adoptive communities, and through various community service projects and team activities, both at the ballpark and in the community, players become a part of their local communities, forming friendships and memories that will last long after the boys of summer are gone.

The Premier Collegiate League, was established in 2020, with the duel goal of providing our franchises with a sustainable league model, that includes close geographic proximity between our teams, equaling short travel times and reduced travel expenses, and providing elite collegiate players the opportunity to compete against some of the top collegiate players from around the country.

In addition, the Premier Collegiate League, through it’s affiliate franchises, strives to provide a platform for players to further develop and showcase their talents in a professional baseball setting, and the opportunity to enjoy their summer on the ballfield and in their adoptive communities.
