Josh Henkel collected three hits in three at bats, as Greenbrier Knights defeated Yorktown Coconuts 8-6 on Tuesday at War Memorial Stadium. Henkel singled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Greenbrier Knights got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Cordaro Williams doubled down the left field line, Joshua Radmore singled to right field, and Dylan Wood singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Yorktown Coconuts tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a single by Jackson, a fielder’s choice by Schott, and a fielder’s choice by Sean Stewart.

A walk by Reid Vandergrift gave Greenbrier Knights the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third.

In the top of the fourth inning, Yorktown Coconuts went back into the lead after Greenbrier Knights dropped a third strike, and Schott grounded out, each scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Hayden Jones grounded into a fielder’s choice, Henkel singled to left field, and Williams flew out, each scoring one run.

Gavin Stevens earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking seven. Duroseir took the loss for Yorktown Coconuts. The starter went four innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking four. Calub Gryckiewicz collected the save. Joseph Petry threw two innings of scoreless ball for Greenbrier Knights in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits, striking out two and walking two.

Greenbrier Knights amassed 11 hits in the game. WilliamsWoodRadmoreJones, and Henkel each drove in one run for Greenbrier Knights. Aidan Feather collected two hits for Greenbrier Knights in three at bats. Henkel stole two bases. Greenbrier Knights worked the count all day, amassing nine walks. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game.

Schott led the team with two runs batted in. HetzelJackson, and Knight each collected two hits for Yorktown Coconuts. Sasser led Yorktown Coconuts with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game.
