Even though Greenbrier Knights collected nine hits to Yorktown Coconuts’s seven, they still fell 12-7 on Tuesday at War Memorial Stadium. Matthew Thompson, Tucker Rupe, and Joshua Radmore each collected two hits for Greenbrier Knights.
Yorktown Coconuts opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Yorktown Coconuts first got on the board when Bobby Knight singled, scoring one run.
Yorktown Coconuts added one run in the second after Cameron Duke flew out.
Yorktown Coconuts added one run in the third. Damian Sasser grounded out, making the score 4-0.
Greenbrier Knights captured the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the fourth when Thompson singled, scoring two runs, Radmore singled, scoring one run, and David Riddick Jr drew a walk, scoring one run.
Yorktown Coconuts captured the lead, 7-6, in the top of the fifth when Knight singled, scoring one run, and Sasser grounded out, scoring two runs.

Ian Salters took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The righty went one inning, allowing three runs on one hit, striking out none and walking three. Luke Warner stepped on the bump first for Greenbrier Knights.
