Game Goes Down To The Wire As Greenbrier Knights Loses To Coconuts Baseball On Final Play
A walk-off left Greenbrier Knights on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Coconuts Baseball on Tuesday at Kiln Creek Park. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.
Greenbrier Knights collected 13 hits and Coconuts Baseball had 11 in the high-scoring affair.
A home run to left field by Dallas Kaili put Greenbrier Knights on the board in the top of the second.
Greenbrier Knights added one run in the third after Warren Bailey singled to center field.
Coconuts Baseball captured the lead, 9-8, in the bottom of the seventh when Abrise grounded out, scoring one run, Colton Sandiford singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Aden True earned the win for Coconuts Baseball. The reliever surrendered three hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none.
Hunter Langston took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The reliever went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking three.
Adam Emhoff opened the game for Greenbrier Knights. The lefty surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none.
Brayden Pendelton stepped on the hill first for Coconuts Baseball. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four and walking none.
Greenbrier Knights collected 13 hits in the game. Bailey led Greenbrier Knights with three hits in four at bats. Dylan Whitmire and Sylvester Clark each collected multiple hits for Greenbrier Knights. Clark stole four bases. Greenbrier Knights stole five bases in the game.
Coconuts Baseball tallied 11 hits in the game. Sandiford, the number nine hitter for Coconuts Baseball, led the way with four runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Ahmaad Goldson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Coconuts Baseball in hits.
