Greenbrier Knights Triumph Over VA Blasters

Greenbrier Knights defeated VA Blasters 7-4 on Tuesday at Trant Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

VA Blasters opened the scoring in the second after Jaethan Inman doubled, scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Kai Patton that drove in two.

Calub Gryckiewicz earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Baker took the loss for VA Blasters. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs on three hits, striking out six and walking three. Bryce Burchette started on the mound for Greenbrier Knights. The starter gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Danny Padilla collected the save. Jy’Quez Williams pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Greenbrier Knights in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking two.

Leadoff hitter Tyler Rutman led Greenbrier Knights with two hits in three at bats. Patton and Josh Henkel each drove in two runs for Greenbrier Knights. Patton paced Greenbrier Knights with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 11 walks for the game. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game.
