Saturday’s game against Yorktown Coconuts was a heartbreaker for Greenbrier Knights, as they lost the lead late in a 7-6 defeat at Northampton Community Center. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when T Jackson grounded out, scoring one run.

Yorktown Coconuts rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-1 in the second.

Greenbrier Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Yorktown Coconuts committed an error, Joshua Radmore walked, Yorktown Coconuts committed an error, and Tucker Rupe walked, each scoring one run.

Greenbrier Knights added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Taylor Barnes singled to right field, and Matthew Thompson walked, each scoring one run.

Yorktown Coconuts tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Jackson, and a triple by C Buchan.

P Unknown earned the win for Yorktown Coconuts. The pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs (two earned) over nine innings, striking out 15 and walking eight. Danny Padilla took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. The pitcher went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Liam Richardson started the game for Greenbrier Knights. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking five.

Thompson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Greenbrier Knights with two runs batted in. Dylan Wood led Greenbrier Knights with two hits in three at bats. Greenbrier Knights had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Cordaro Williams and David Riddick Jr led the team with two walks each. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game.
