Josh Henkel Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Greenbrier Knights Take The Win Over Norfolk Mermaids in Game 2 of this Double Header
Josh Henkel collected three hits in three at bats, as Greenbrier Knights defeated Norfolk Mermaids 10-4 on Tuesday at WAR MEMORIAL. Henkel singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Greenbrier Knights jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Henkel singled, scoring one run, Cordaro Williams doubled, scoring two runs, and Aidan Feather grounded out, scoring one run.
Greenbrier Knights added one run in the second after Tyler Rutman singled to center field.
Greenbrier Knights added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Joshua Radmore grounded out, and Henkel singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Adam Emhoff earned the win for Greenbrier Knights. The starter surrendered three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out six and walking three. SEAN HARRIS took the loss for Norfolk Mermaids. The starter went three innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking two. James Stapleton, Luke Warner, Bryce Burchette, and Henkel each threw shutout innings for Greenbrier Knights in relief.
Greenbrier Knights collected 13 hits in the game. Williams led Greenbrier Knights with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Feather and Brendan White each collected multiple hits for Greenbrier Knights. White stole two bases. Greenbrier Knights ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game. Greenbrier Knights turned one double play in the game.
The Greenbrier Knights will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Norfolk Mermaids at Granby HS, 6:00pm start.
